Patients check credentials, treatments, timings, location and reviews before booking, so build every page around those checks.
This clinic website design guide shows you how to do that step by step. If you run a single doctor clinic, a multi specialty clinic, or a small hospital in India, you will learn what pages you need, how to handle booking and WhatsApp, how to build trust within ethics rules, and how to appear in local search.
You do not need a large website. You need a clear website. Every page should answer one patient question and guide you to the next step: check the doctor, check the treatment, check the timing, then book.
At DeskBees, we design healthcare websites from Secunderabad, Hyderabad for clinics across India. This guide follows the same page plan we use for our clients.

How Patients Choose a Clinic Online
Think about how you choose a clinic when you are new to an area. You search for your problem plus your location. You open two or three results. You compare them quickly on your phone.
You look for signs that this doctor can treat your problem. You check the qualification and experience. You check the clinic timing for today. You check the address and how to reach it. You check reviews to see what other patients say about waiting time, behaviour, and billing.
If any of these answers are missing, you go back and open the next clinic. That is why doctor website design works best when it copies this real checking process.
A good healthcare website does three jobs. First, it gives facts fast. Name, qualification, specialty, timings, address, phone, and booking link should be easy to find on every page.
Second, it reduces fear. Many patients feel nervous about pain, cost, or diagnosis. Simple language, clear photos of the clinic, and step by step visit information help you feel calm.
Third, it helps Google understand you. Google shows helpful, people first content higher in results. You can read the official guidance on creating helpful content. In plain words, write for patients first, not for search engines.
For medical website design in India, mobile comes first. Most patients will open your site on a phone, often while travelling. Keep paragraphs short. Keep buttons large. Keep call and WhatsApp buttons fixed at the bottom on mobile.
Ask yourself on every page: can a patient in 30 seconds understand who you treat, when you are open, where you are, and how to book. If yes, your structure is right.
Clinic Website Design: Must-Have Pages for Doctors and Clinics
You do not need 30 pages. Most clinics do well with 8 to 12 clear pages. Each page should have one purpose, one heading that matches what patients search for, and one clear next step.
The structure below covers what patients check most. You can reuse it for a single doctor site, a dental clinic, an eye clinic, a skin and hair clinic, or a small hospital site. Many hospital website features are the same as clinic features, only with more doctors and departments.
Doctor Profiles With Qualifications and Registration
Your doctor profile page is often your most visited page. Patients use it to decide if you are the right doctor for their problem.
Include your full name, qualification, specialty, and registration number where applicable. Add your medical college, years of experience, and areas of focus. Keep the language simple. For example, write “treats migraine, back pain, and nerve pain” along with the formal specialty name.
Add a professional photo in clinic clothes. Avoid stock photos for doctor profiles. Patients want to recognise you when they walk in.
List your OPD days and timings on the same page. Link to booking. Add languages you speak. If you have more than one doctor, give each doctor a separate page with the same format.
Do not list awards or memberships you cannot verify. Do not use words like best, guaranteed cure, or painless treatment. Describe your training and your process instead.
For trust, add a short note on your approach. For example: “First visit includes history, examination, and a clear plan. We explain options before we advise tests or procedures.” This tells patients what to expect without making health promises.
Treatments and Conditions
Patients search by problem, not by medical code. They type “root canal dentist Secunderabad” or “migraine treatment Hyderabad.” Your treatment pages should match that language.
Create one page per main treatment or condition. A dental clinic may need pages for root canal, braces, implants, and cleaning. A neuro or pain clinic may need pages for migraine, back pain, and neuropathy.
Each page should answer: Who is this treatment for. What happens during the visit. How many visits are usually needed. What aftercare you advise. When to contact the clinic. What to bring for the first visit.
Use plain words. Explain terms when you must use them. Do not promise results. Do not write “permanent cure” or “100 percent safe.” Instead, explain how you assess suitability and how you take consent.
End every treatment page with a next step. Link to the doctor who provides that treatment, show timings, and give call and WhatsApp options.
Timings, Fee Guidance and Location
Missing timing and location details lose bookings every day. Patients will not call just to ask “are you open today.”
Create a clear Visit or Contact page, plus show key facts in your header and footer. Include OPD days and hours for each doctor. Mark Sunday and holiday hours clearly. Update timings before festivals and leave periods.
For fees, give guidance so patients can plan. For example: “Consultation fee range for first visit” or “a cost estimate is shared before any procedure.” If you have standard charges, list them with a date note and a line that fees may change.
For location, give your full address with landmark. Embed a Google Map. Add parking and public transport notes. If you work from more than one location, list each location with its own timing table.
Add photos of your building entrance, reception, and waiting area. Real photos help first time patients find you. A 360 view also helps. See our Google 360 services if you want patients to see your clinic interior on Google Maps and on your site.
Booking and Contact
Your booking page should be the simplest page on your site. Show three options clearly: Call, WhatsApp, and online form or slot booking.
Keep forms short. Ask only for name, phone, doctor or treatment, preferred day and time, and one line for the problem. Do not ask for full medical history on a website form.
Confirm privacy on the form itself. Add one line: “We use your details only to arrange your visit. We do not share them.” Link to your privacy policy.
For details on slot systems, reminders, and no show control, read our guide on booking and appointment systems for clinics and salons.
Online Booking and WhatsApp
Many clinics in India get more enquiries on WhatsApp than on calls. Your clinic website should treat WhatsApp as a main booking channel, not as an extra button.
Place a WhatsApp chat button on every page. Use a pre filled message so you get useful details at once. For example: “Hi, I would like an appointment for [treatment] with [doctor] on [day].”
Connect your website form to WhatsApp and email. When a patient submits the form, your front desk should get an instant alert. Your team can then reply, confirm the slot, and share location.
Set clear reply rules. Show your reply hours near the button. For example: “We reply between 9 am and 8 pm. For urgent issues, call the clinic number.” Assign one person to check messages during OPD hours.
Do not use WhatsApp for diagnosis. Use it for booking, directions, timing, reports collection, and follow up reminders. If a patient sends symptoms or photos, ask them to visit or call.
If you run ads or post on Google Business Profile, send all clicks to the booking page, not to the homepage. Patients who click “Book Appointment” should land directly on slots, timings, and WhatsApp.
Building Trust Without Breaking Advertising Rules
Trust is central to doctor website design. But doctors in India must be careful about advertising. The National Medical Commission sets ethics rules for medical professionals. You can find updates and regulations on the NMC website.
This section is general information only and is not legal advice. Ethics rules can change. Confirm your website content with your legal counsel or professional body before you publish.
Your website should inform, not attract through promises. It is safer to share facts: your qualification, your registration, your services, your timings, your fees guidance, your address, and how patients can contact you.
- Claims of being the best, top, or number one doctor or clinic
- Before and after photos that promise the same result to every patient
- Guarantees of cure, success rates without clear context, or risk free language
- Discount offers that push medical procedures like products
- Patient photos, videos, or testimonials that reveal identity without clear written consent
If you want to show patient stories, use written consent first. Explain where the photo or review will appear, for how long, and that consent can be withdrawn. Do not use photos of children or sensitive conditions for marketing. When in doubt, leave the photo out.
You can link to your Google reviews and ask patients to share honest feedback. Do not pay for reviews. Do not write fake reviews. Do not offer gifts only for positive reviews.
Educational content builds trust safely. Write simple guides on when to visit, what to bring, and what happens during a common procedure. Add a line that online information does not replace an in person examination.
Local SEO for Clinics
Local SEO helps nearby patients find you when they search “dentist near me” or “skin doctor in Secunderabad.” For clinics, map results and local pages often bring more calls than general rankings.
Start with your Google Business Profile. Use the correct clinic name, category, address, phone, hours, and services. Add real photos of the exterior, reception, waiting area, and treatment rooms. Keep hours updated.
Next, match your website to your profile. Your site name, address, and phone should be the same everywhere. Create one strong location page for your main area with map, timings, parking, bus and metro guidance, and areas you serve.
Create service plus area pages only where you truly serve. Do not create many area pages with the same text and only the area name changed. That thin content does not help patients and can hurt rankings.
Answer local questions: How do I reach you from the railway station. Where do I park. What are your evening OPD hours. Do you treat walk in patients.
Make it easy for patients to leave a review after their visit with a QR code at reception. Ask all patients equally and let them describe their own visit.
Schema: MedicalClinic and Physician
Schema is code that helps search engines understand your clinic pages. It does not change what patients see, but it helps Google show correct details like name, address, hours, and specialty.
For clinics, the most useful types are MedicalClinic and Physician. You can read the definitions on schema.org/MedicalClinic. Start with accurate basics.
For your clinic, mark up: clinic name, description in plain words, full address, phone, opening hours, and medical specialty. For each doctor, mark up: name, job title, medical specialty, and link to the doctor page.
Use a trusted SEO plugin or your theme schema feature to add this. After you add schema, test your pages with Google Rich Results Test and fix errors.
Keep schema honest. Do not add review stars to your own site code unless they come from real reviews collected under clear rules. Do not mark up services you do not offer. If you change timings, address, or doctors, update both the visible page and the schema on the same day.
Patient Data and Privacy
A healthcare website collects sensitive enquiries even if you do not run online reports. Name, phone, health problem, and visit history need care from day one.
Collect less data. Your forms should ask only what your front desk needs to fix a slot. Move detailed history taking to the clinic with proper consent.
Use HTTPS on every page. Keep WordPress, themes, and plugins updated. Limit admin access to staff who need it. Use strong passwords and two factor login. Take regular backups and know how to restore them.
Write a clear privacy policy in simple English. State what you collect, why you collect it, how long you keep it, who can access it, and how patients can ask for correction or deletion.
India’s data protection law is the DPDP Act. Rules and guidance are still developing. This section is general information, not legal advice. Ask your legal counsel to review your forms and privacy policy.
Proof From Our Work: Asha Neuromodulation Clinics, Mahavir Hospital, Shaheen Dental
Below are portfolio examples from our work in Hyderabad. Shared with client permission. We describe only what we built, without making health claims.
Asha Neuromodulation Clinics
Website: ashaneuromodulationclinics.com
We designed a clear, service led website for this neurology and neuromodulation clinic. The site has separate doctor profiles, condition pages, and treatment pages so patients can find their problem fast. It has OPD timings, location guidance, call and WhatsApp booking, and simple contact forms.
We also helped with search visibility basics: page titles, headings, internal links, Google Business Profile alignment, and schema setup. You can read the full story in our case study on Asha Neuromodulation Clinics website visibility.
Mahavir Hospital
Website: themahavirhospital.in
We worked on website pages for this hospital to organise doctors, departments, and contact paths. The structure follows hospital website features patients expect: department list, doctor list with profiles, timings, address with map, and call options.
Shaheen Dental
We built website pages for this dental clinic around treatments patients search for, such as cleaning, root canal, braces, and implants. Each treatment page explains the visit steps, what to bring, and how to book, with doctor details and location on the same path.
FAQs
A clinic website should include doctor profiles with qualification and registration details, treatment and condition pages in plain words, OPD timings, fee guidance, address with map and directions, phone and WhatsApp booking, a short contact form, reviews link, and a privacy policy. Every page should work well on a phone and end with a clear next step to call, WhatsApp, or book.
Doctors must follow ethics rules on advertising set by the National Medical Commission. In general, websites should inform with facts rather than promise results. Rules can change. This is not legal advice. Check the NMC website for current regulations and ask your legal counsel to review your site before launch.
Cost depends on number of pages, doctor and treatment pages, booking or WhatsApp setup, content writing, photos and 360 views, and ongoing care. We do not list a fixed price here. Read our guide on how much a website costs in Hyderabad, then send us your doctor count and treatment list for a clear quote.
